Harry Brook Show First Century of IPL 2023
Kolkata Knight Riders captain Nitish Rana has won the toss and decided to bowl first against SRH in their home Eden Garden. Sunrisers Hyderabad decided to promote Harry Brook to the opening slot after series of failure. Harry Brook didn't disappointed and laid attack on the KKR bowlers,even though he lost partners in the form of Mayank Agarwal and later Rahul Tripathi. SRH were on 65/2 at the end of power play.
Captain Aiden Markram joined Harry Brook and steaded the ship. Harry Brook was on song smashing bowlers allround the ground and bought up his maiden half century in 32 balls. Aiden Markram also joined the party and smashed Suyash Sharma for 16 runs. Harry Brook struggled a bit against spinners but Aiden Markram took on spinner and bought up his half century in just 25 balls and immediately lost his wicket in next ball against Varun Chakraborty.
Harry Brook took on Lockie Ferguson in 15th over scoring 23 runs thus providing important momentum to his and SRH innings. Abhishek Sharma also chipped in with valuable cameos and supported well to Harry Brook.
Andre Russell dismissed Abhishek Sharma for 32(17) who was looking good and it was his 3rd wicket of the night and unfortunately Russell limped off from the ground.
Henry Klassen joined with party and played good cameo scoring quick fire 16(6). Whereas Harry Brook bought up his Maiden as well the first century of IPL 2023 in just 55 balls and helped SRH to reach in commanding position of 228 runs in 20 overs. During this inning Harry Brook Smashed 12 fours and 3 massive sixes and gave a fitting reply to the experts.
Chasing 229 runs KKR lost their 1st wicket on 3rd ball of the 1st over as Bhuvaneshwar dismissed Gurbaz on duck. KKR had worst possible start as they lost 2 more wickets as Marco Jansen dismissed both Ventakesh Iyer and Sunil Narine on successive delivery.
Captain Nitish Rana and N Jagdeesan control the collapse of Kolkata Knight Riders. Nitish Rana took on Imran Malik and scored 28 runs in last over of the power play thus helping KKR to reach 62 for 3 at the end of PP.
Mayank Markande first dismissed N Jagdeesan for 36 runs in 21 balls and later took all important wicket of Andre Russell on just 3 runs,yet another failure for Dre Russ.
Captain Nitish Rana kept loosing partners at the other end but he kept scoring for his team and bought up half century in just 25 balls.
Even though KKR kept loosing wickets but still they kept scoring with run rate close to 10 per ove.Nitish Rana and along with last match hero Rinku Singh helped KKR to reach 135 runs in 14 runs ,still needing 94 runs in 36 balls.
Washington Sundar drops Nitish Rana on 68 runs on Marco Jansen bowling and equation went down to 70 runs in 24 balls. Finally Natarajan dismissed Nitish Rana for fought 75 runs in 41 balls. 58 runs were required in 18 balls . Both Rinku Singh and Shardul Thakur tried their best in the process Rinku Singh bought his half century in just 27 balls. KKR were required impossible 32 runs were in final over of the match and Shardul Thakur lost his wicket on the first ball. Rinku Singh fought till the last ball remaining unbeaten on 58 runs and KKR lost by 23 runs.
